Operations Tech Jobs at BP
The Operations Technician is a member of a multidiscipline operations team, reporting to the Operations Team Leader/Supervisor. The main purpose of this position is to provide input to maximize optimization of production systems.
Responsibilities:
- Provides knowledge or expertise to others through coaching or conducting on the job training programs
- Create new ways to help others understand complex situations, problems or opportunities
- Provide input as requested regarding performance of personnel
- Act decisively in dealing with crises, setting priorities or choosing goals to achieve success based on HSSE & commercial goals
- Identify and anticipate future problems. Use skills to anticipate, identify and prioritize highly complex problems.
- Serve as the focal point for reviewing and ensuring all operating procedures are up to date and followed during operations activities
- Participate in coordination planning and implementation of work so that the impact on production is minimal and that proper teamwork is expressed between the teams
- Ensure cross discipline collaboration among all technical disciplines at the site
- Participate in day to day implementation of HSSE programs
- Responsible for ensuring a safe and prudent operation of work teams to deliver optimum production in an environmentally responsible manner
- Integrate ideas and observations from discussion with peers to improve operations performance
- Communicate human and material resources requirements to platform leadership and Houston support staff
- Communicate system operating parameters to appropriate parties e.g. well test, casing pressures, flow assurance
- Responsible for achieving competency requirements
- Involved with Integrity Management planned inspections and coordinate with other facility operations
