Manager Of Mining, Austcorp Executive Pty Ltd

Responsibilites: Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the overall mining operations including exploration, technical services and all production activities. Managing a large team of over seven hundred staff across five sites of open cut mining operations, your key responsibilities will be to set up and deliver the site strategies in order to ensure client expectations are met in terms of quality & supply, whilst also meeting operational budgets.

Key accountabilities:

• Prepare operating plans, budgets and capital expenditure proposals.
• Ensuring workplace training is developed and delivered.
• Focus on minimising the impacts of mining on the environment.
• Setting direction and leadership by actively promoting proactive safety and working behaviors.
• Ensuring there are appropriate systems including strategy development, contract management, continuous improvement, and performance reporting developed and operating effectively.
• Schedule and complete mine developments to enable sustainable volumes and grade for export customers.
• This senior management position has been created due to the restructure and future delivery program in driving change and meeting market demand. With approximately 1.5 million tonnes of raw material being sourced yearly you will be responsible in meeting client demand both domestically and internationally.
• To be successful for this role you will be able to demonstrate previous experience within a Mining Managers capacity along with these key qualities:
• Tertiary degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years in a senior role operating an open-pit mine site.
• Demonstrated experience managing geological functions in an open-pit mining operation.
• Management of large leadership teams.
• High level understanding in mining methodologies, improvement processes and contract management.
• Well developed communication, presentation and time management skills.
